Eternal MMA returns to Perth HPC on October 11 with a high-stakes showdown between Japan’s reigning flyweight champion Takeshi Taniguchi and Western Australia’s own Anthony Drilich in the main event.
In true Rocky-style fashion, Taniguchi captured the belt on foreign soil when then-champion Frank Jankowski opened the door to the world – and Taniguchi walked through it, stepping up on short notice and going five hard rounds to claim gold. Now riding a four-fight win streak, “The Notorious” Taniguchi makes his first title defence on enemy territory – against none other than the former champ himself.
Anthony Drilich is synonymous with knockouts – a Perth powerhouse with fight-ending hands and serious submission skills. He’s already proven he can put the lights out or choke you out, with his last win coming via first-round rear naked choke over Scotland’s Brian Hyslop. And now, he wants his belt back – right here on home soil.
